5k and Psoriasis

You may ask what do these have in common? Nothing really other than we are doing a 5k this Saturday and raising money to research a cure for this dreaded disease.

Because this disease effects many in our family it has become a family affair. My brother and his wife and sister and her husband and I beleive thier kids are either walking or running as well.

For those of you that have not encountered Psoriasis and do not have an idea what it is read on. Basically something causes your skin to grow to fast and the result is scaly crusty patches of skin that can itch like mad. Some people such as myself only have a few spots and they can be managed by using a cream. Some people have spots on a good portion of their bodies and it is like having a trillion mosquito bites... but all the time. While others will get arthritis that is associated with this. It is not contagious but causes alarm in some people because it is ugly. If you would like to read more go here for more information.
